Did you ever forget where you put your keys and start worrying that it was a sign that you were getting Alzheimer's disease. In our hectic lives many people forget where they put their keys - that doesn't mean they are begining the descent into progressive cognitive decline. here we give you a few simple tips to help you avoid this common inconvienence of misplaced objects.
Tip 1: If you are about to leave the house and can't find your keys the first rule is not to panic. Take a deep breath and relax. Everybody forgets something sometimes. Being stressed out will only make it harder for you to remember where in the house you put your keys .
Tip 2: In the future – when putting your keys or wallet down, consistently put them in the same place.
Tip 3: Consciously use multiple senses while setting down your keys or wallet:
- touch the surface and notice how it feels.
- look at other objects nearby and notice the color of the background and.
- say aloud where you are putting this item.
Tip 4 If forgetfulness continues – sign up for a memory training course.
