Proceeds:  Melabev's Annual Virtual Dinner raises the funds for the meals that are served every day to the hundreds of memory impaired older adults in Melabev day centers.  We know that meals that are eaten in social settings boost the well-being of the elders, and actually aid in nutritious food consumption compared with eating alone.   

Melabev, an amuta with sief 46 status, is an award winning pioneer in Israel in caring for Alzheimer's patients and offering support to their families.  With nine day care centers in greater Jerusalem, a unique home care program and three decades of cutting edge innovations, Melabev continues to be a leader in Alzheimer's care. 

 

Drawing the Winning Name(s) in the Lottery:  IBA – TV English News will air the drawing.  In addition to their audience in Israel, they are said to reach 20 million households in North America alone.

 

The Annual Virtual Dinner:  The Virtual Dinner results in a "real" festive brunch, complete with volunteer entertainment, for our elders in each Melabev Day Cener on Rosh Hodesh Nisan.  This is in addition to the daily meals that are subsidized by the proceeds of the Virtual Dinner-pre-Pesach appeal. 

 

Making the Virtual Dinner "tangible" for our donors:  For every donation above $50 (nis 180) we will submit the donor's name in a special "30th Anniversary of Melabev Lottery".  For multiple amounts of the basic donation we will submit the donor's name multiple times.  All donations  are gratefully received.

Publicity for our Sponsors:  A Virtual Dinner invitation plus a colorful insert that highlights each of the sponsors and the prizes they are offering will be sent to all 4000+ on our mailing list and featured on our web site.  We will use on-line methods of publicizing as well as radio, e-mail lists, magazines and newspapers.

Time frame: 

*  February 13 - all the information on the prizes, including the logos of the sponsors must be in our office.  E-mail:  susan@melabev.org

*  March 1st -   mailing the bi-lingual invitations

*  April 5^th, Rosh Hodesh Nisan -  The festive brunch in each of our centers

*  April 28th – Donations (and donors' names for the lottery) to be in our office

*  On or about May 15 - The televised prize winning drawing
