invite you to the book launch for their jointly published book, titled
"Alzheimer's and Dementias: Treating and Coping with Mentally Frail in the Community".
The launch will take place on June 30th at 7:30 pm at the
Melabev Center on 152 Derech Beit Lechem St. in Talpiot, Jerusalem. This evening will be held in Hebrew. .
The 120-page Hebrew language book, edited by Melabev's Rakel Berenbaum, is an expanded edition of the out of print book "Working with Alzheimer's Patients: Enrichment for those Caring for the Mentally Impaired in the Community. The book features articles by Melabev co-founders Prof. Arnold Rosin and Leah Abramowitz as well as by other leaders in the field such as Prof. Iska Cohen- Mansfield of the TAU Herzog Institute on Aging and Dr. Zvi Dwolשtsky from Ben Gurion University.
Articles cover a wide range of topics, from "Dealing with Difficult Behaviors" to "Communication Techniques". Varied therapy techniques are featured that have been proven successful with this population; including dance therapy, art therapy, garden therapy, Snoezelen therapy, pet therapy, and cognitive stimulation at the computer, and much more. Both Prof. Brick, director of Eshel and Motti Zelikovitch, director of Melabev, wrote introductory prefaces to the book. The book includes an appendix with 101 things to do with the person who has dementia.
