Purim is a holiday of giving to others whether it's charity "matanot leiyonim" or mishloach manot food packages. While we may think that people with Alzheimer's disease will always be on the receiving end, at Melabev they are also given the opportunity to be a part of this giving.
Especially in Melabev Beit Shemesh, known for its goal of empowering its clients to be active members of society, the elders get involved. Here they spend a lot of time making elaborate packages to give to soldiors or to underprivileged children. This work often becomes an intergenerational project when children from the area come along to help them prepare these packages.
