"Adopt a Grandparent" in one of our day care centers:

Many of our participants and their families can not afford day care. You can become their sponsor.

$ 25. will pay for a day of care, including transportation and meals
$ 150 will pay for six days of care*
$ 600 will pay for one month's care*
$ 7,200 will cover a full year's care*

*We will gladly send you a profile of your adopted Granny.

Honor or memorialize a loved one

Every donation in honor or memory of a particular person will be recognized with a specially designed card, that features the art work of our own participants, to be sent to the individual honored or the family of the person being memorialized.

For donations of $1,000 and up, a "flame" will be dedicated, with an inscription of your choosing, on the set of plaques comprising our "Menorah" in our building in Pisgat Zeev.

Contribute towards a particular service

Donations of $25 to $5,000 may be earmarked to support one of the following services:

• "Special Needs Fund", to enable the purchase of adult diapers, medications or hiring home help for an economically disadvantaged family with an Alzheimer's relative in their care.
• Respite Services, to enable the placement of an Alzheimer's patient in a round-the-clock facility for up to two weeks while the family caregiver tends to their own medical needs
• Expansion of our garden therapy program to all our centers
• Expansion of our speech therapy program to all our centers
• Expansion of our Support Groups for family caregivers in these stressful times
• Geriatric Institute courses or seminars for professional eldercare workers

Contribute towards the purchase of supplies and equipment

In the Resource Center -

• A donation of $180 will purchase a one-year subscription to a professional journal
• A donation of $ 1800 will purchase twelve new reference volumes

In our day care centers and memory clubs -

• A donation of $500 will purchase a year's supply of plants and plant therapy equipment for one center
• A donation of $1000 will purchase a new computer for our unique project of cognitive and memory exercises on the computer.

For our home care program

• A donation of $2000 will purchase a new lap top computer to take our unique project of cognitive and memory exercises into the home of a bed-ridden patient.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Contribute toward the running of a particular day care center or memory club.

Each center makes the lives of 20 elderly people more meaningful. Each location provides activities that enhance the old peoples self esteem, engages them in meaningful undertakings and enables them to meet new friends everyday. Each center is staffed by 2-3 professional workers. They provide two meals, transportation and therapies. There is equipment to buy and replace, i.e. art & baking supplies replenished. Furthermore, there are rental fees in some locations, and utilities plus cleaning and security help must be paid in our new building in north Jerusalem.

You may earmark your donation from $25 to $5,000 towards the operation of a day care center or memory club of your choosing.

Contributions of $1,000 or more can be earmarked for an Endowment Fund that will guarantee the maintenance of MELABEV projects and services

Building for Tomorrow

Contributions of $5,000 or more can be earmarked for the specific purpose of acquiring a new building of our own to enable us to serve the expanding population that needs our care.
