Day Care Centers Day Care Centers Today, MELABEV operates eight day care centers and memory clubs for the cognitively and memory impaired, located in several neighborhoods throughout the capital. Our empathic professionals and volunteers work with them offering a rich, innovative program of social and therapeutic activities.The program is designed to exercise the members remaining strengths, enhance their sense of well-being and restore their self-respect. We re-design adult activities, that were familiar to our elderly in their former lives, to match their present level of functioning, while retaining their dignity. Some of the specialized activities offered in the clubs are: art therapy, dance therapy, music therapy, physical therapy, horticulture therapy, pet therapy, computer lessons, cooking activities, intergenerational connections, parties, trips and so much more. MELABEV's highly professional staff understand that the participants need to feel appreciated as distinct individuals still able to use their remaining skills. The club members have a reason to get up in the morning, with a familiar place to go and friends to see. Roundtrip transportation is provided from most Jerusalem neighborhoods as well as a mid-morning snack and a hot lunch meal.
