"Don't cast me aside when I grow old - when my strength falters, don't abandon me."

In these uncertain times Alzheimer's patients and their families need all the help they can get. MELABEV - a leader in Alzheimer's care - is here for them. We, however, are dependent on donations for more than 30% of our annual budget.

Yudie Ballooney Visits Beit Shemesh

Everyone loves balloons and the Melabev members are no exception. So when Yudie Ballooney blows in we're always happy! Especially when he sends us home with one of his brilliant balloon creations like the one you see here. Yudie was part of a bat mitzvah celebration that was held at Melabev Beit Shemesh. We are delighted to have had several s'machot celebrated here with the seniors of Beit Shemesh! Mazal Tov!!

Volunteers of All Ages!

No one is too young or too old to be a volunteer at a Melabev Day Care Center!

We have a use for every talent or specialty. Some volunteers come to conduct an exercise class or lead a bake-off. Some volunteers come to play an instrument or entertain the elders with song and dance. There are many volunteer opportunities available.

Out of Jerusalem

Founded in 1981 by Leah Abramowitz and Prof. Arnold Rosin, Melabev Day Care Centers provide sensitive and stimulating environments for memory-impaired senior citizens. These centers provide tremendous support and reprieve for family members and caretakers who are often overwhelmed and exhausted from the strain of caring for loved ones who are disabled.

Model Pesach Seder

Once again, Melabev Beit Shemesh held its annual Mock Pesach Seder at the Zinman Matnas. The members enjoyed a vivid and animated description of the ten plagues by Rabbi Asher Channen who is a well-known teacher and lecturer in the Beit Shemesh area. Children and grandchildren were invited to Melabev and group participation was encouraged as they all re-lived the miracles and escape from Egypt.
